What areas do you serve?

Sunshine Pets provides professional dog walking and pet check-ins in Kailua, Hawaii (96734) and surrounding neighborhoods including Lanikai, Enchanted Lake, and nearby residential communities.

What services does Sunshine Pets offer?

We provide professional dog walking, pet check-ins, cat sitting, small animal care, and pooper scooper services in Kailua, HI. All services are scheduled through our secure client portal.

How are services scheduled?

All services must be requested through our Time To Pet client portal. Services are not confirmed until approved by Sunshine Pets.

What's included in a dog walk?

Each personalized walk includes:

  • A structured walk tailored to your dog

  • Water refresh and basic safety check

  • GPS tracking

  • Photo and visit report

  • Reinforcement of basic manners (when appropriate)

Walk length refers to active walk time and does not include arrival/departure procedures.

What's included in a pet check-in

Our pet check-ins in Kailua may include:

​

  • Feeding and water refresh

  • Litter box scooping

  • Backyard potty breaks

  • Medication administration (if approved)

  • Playtime and enrichment

  • Photo updates and visit report

Check-ins are ideal for cats, puppies, senior pets, and small animals. 

What are the requirements for pet check-ins?

For safety and humane care standards:

  • All pets must have access to fresh water at all times.

  • Dogs must have safe access to a secure yard or designated bathroom area if left between visits.

  • Homes must provide safe and reasonable working conditions.

We reserve the right to decline services if proper care conditions are not met.

Do you offer in-home overnight care?

We provide scheduled daytime and evening visits. At this time, we do not offer in-home overnight stays.

Do you offer meet and greets?

Yes. All new clients begin with a complimentary meet and greet to review your pet’s routine, home access, and care instructions before services begin.

Memberships

What's the difference between memberships and packages?

Memberships are recurring weekly dog walking plans designed for consistent weekday care. They include discounted pricing, reserved weekly time slots, and priority scheduling.
 

Packages are prepaid walk bundles for occasional or flexible scheduling. Packages do not guarantee recurring time slots.

How do monthly memberships work?

Our memberships are designed for families booking 3 or more walks per week.

  • Walks occur on a recurring weekly schedule

  • Memberships are billed monthly in advance

  • Your dog’s spot is reserved on our Kailua walking routes

  • Includes discounted per-walk pricing​

Memberships require a one-month commitment. After the first month, they may be cancelled at any time with notice before the next billing cycle.

When am I charged for my membership?

Memberships are automatically billed at the beginning of each month to reserve your dog’s scheduled walks for that month.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes. Memberships require a minimum one-month commitment. After the first month, you may cancel 5 days before the next billing date.

What happens if I need to cancel a walk?

• 24+ hours’ notice: Walk may be credited.
• Less than 24 hours’ notice: Walk is considered used.

Because memberships reserve a spot on our walking routes, last-minute cancellations cannot be refunded.

Do unused membership walks rollover?

Up to 2 unused walks per month may roll over to the following month.

Additional unused walks do not roll over.

Can I pause my membership?

Yes. Memberships may be paused with at least 14 days’ advance notice.

Memberships may be paused for up to one month. If a membership remains paused longer than one month, the reserved weekly time slot will be released and your spot on the route is no longer guaranteed.

To resume services after an extended pause, availability will depend on current route openings.

What happens if you cancel due to weather?

Safety comes first. If Sunshine Pets must cancel due to severe weather or emergency, a credit will be issued.

Rain alone does not automatically cancel walks unless conditions are unsafe.

How do dog walking packages work?

Packages are prepaid bundles of walks that can be used as needed based on availability.

  • Packages do not include reserved weekly time slots.

Yes.

  • 10-walk packages expire 3 months from purchase

  •  20-walk packages expire 6 months from purchase
